History
As a Civic College, the University College Nottingham was founded in 1881. It was thereafter accorded university status and brought under the Royal Charter in 1948. King George V established the college in 1928. It was then established on its main campus, known as University Park. Due to several well-known individuals who served as guest instructors for students at The University of Nottingham in the past, students used to be keen to enrol there. For example, the faculty at Nottingham University included Albert Einstein, Mahatma Gandhi, and H.G. Wells.
