History

Bangor University was founded in 1884 in Bangor, Wales. The university, located in North West London, is home to over 2,500 students from over 100 different nations. The university is one of the country's oldest educational organisations.

Bangor University has been dedicated to scholastic excellence for over 135 years. They are one of the most prestigious educational organisations in the United Kingdom, conferring degrees. The university's unique coastal location suggests that it is an excellent institution for studying Ocean Science.

However, the institution has grown in popularity for its other programs, particularly Electronic Engineering, Sports Science, and Accounting and Finance. International Scholarship up to £4,000

Deans’s Scholarship – Merit based. Up to £6,000. No application required

EU Student Scholarships – up to £6,000. No application required

Professional Experience Scholarship – up to £5000. Application required.

Loyalty Scholarship – Top-up of £1,000 for Bangor Alumni and their close families. No application is required.

Student Support

Student Life

Bangor is a low-cost educational facility situated between the sea and the mountains. Students have a variety of entertainment choices thanks to the vibrant nightlife and rich culture. The institution has its own nightclub named "Academi" for socializing, as well as two residential bars for eating, drinking, and hanging out, Barlows and Bar Uno, and the Pontio Arts and Innovation Centre, which is an art and entertainment venue.

The ideal setting of the institution is an excellent choice for students who enjoy outdoor activities such as mountain biking, kayaking, and hiking. In addition, the institution organises a variety of day trips, movie nights, Sunday lunches, their yearly concert, and open mic nights.

Living Accommodations of Bangor University

Bangor University has 3,000 student accommodations spread across two campuses. All accommodation is self-catering, and all students living in Bangor University accommodation receive a free gym subscription. In their first year, all Bangor University students are assured university housing.

Transportation

The majority of university facilities are walking distance from the city centre and student housing. Students can take advantage of the city's transportation service. Direct services from Manchester, London, Cardiff, and Crewe are available.

Bangor has a road that connects the north Wales shoreline to the M6 and M56. Students can travel to Ireland via the boat from Holyhead. Bangor is only two hours by rail from the airports in Liverpool and Manchester. If students need to journey to Cardiff during the week, they can use Anglesey Airport.

Location

Bangor, with a population of barely more than 15,000 people, is one of the smallest cities in the United Kingdom and has a charmingly cosy atmosphere. The stunning scenery between the Snowdonia Mountains and the Irish Sea is ideal for a variety of outdoor pursuits. Because of the elevated position of the university's famous Main Arts Building, the university is sometimes referred to as "The College on the Hill."

Bangor's living expenses are among the lowest of any UK academic town, making it an excellent choice for students.
